CBRE Properties Commercial Water Damage
Seen here is an 8" flange that supplies 10 gallons of water per minute at 100 pounds of pressure. This large coupling gave way after an extreme amount of pressure was exerted by expanding ice resulting in a foot of standing water in this multi-store retail space. Any guesses at how many pounds of pressure that ice had to use on that flange to break it? SERVPRO of South Colorado Springs quickly dispatched a large crew to extract the water to mitigate the adverse effects of the wicking into the drywall. Since renovations were in progress, no stores were in place to suffer water damage. We used our usual drying equipment, then disinfecting and deodorizing foggers to restore a safe ambiance to the retail space. By rapidly responding and removing the water, we limited the gutting needed to replace the damaged structural materials, thereby saving the property owners money.
