One of the most common causes of water damage is a backup of the sewer or drain lines. In this example, tree roots grew into and eventually clogged the sewer line leading to the street.
When a clog occurs, black water gradually accumulates in the sewer pipe eventually leading to backup into the home, which sometimes can be catastrophic, causing all drain openings in the entire house to flood at once.
Luckily for this customer the water damage was limited to the lower levels of the house in only a few drains. The steps in this cleanup involved clearing the sewer line, performing demolition on affected materials, installing drying equipment, and sanitizing the affected areas.
